IATI Theater presents

Storage Locker

Written by Jeff Stolzer, Directed by Julián J. Mesri

MAN and WOMAN, a married couple, have won the bidding on an abandoned storage locker, hoping to find something so valuable inside that it will land them on easy street. As they begin to go through the unit’s contents, they’re interrupted by OLDER MAN, a sickly septuagenarian who tries to purchase the locker from them, employing a variety of tactics to get his way. OLDER MAN ultimately reveals a personal connection to the locker but is still rebuffed by MAN and WOMAN, who discover something secreted away in the back of the unit that will indeed change their lives forever.

About Alliance of Teatros Latinos, NYC

A group of 8 New York Latino theaters united for the common good of our communities and the field.

The mission of the Alliance is to advocate on behalf of a strong Latino sector within New York’s competitive nonprofit theater and performing arts fields. To its membership, the Alliance provides a common platform for leadership development, strategic resource sharing, and building brand visibility. Member organizations are longtime theater companies running a full range of performance and education programs in Spanish and English. Together, the consortium serves a diverse and growing audience from all five NYC boroughs and the greater metropolitan area. All segments of this population — including largely underserved youth and the elderly — benefit from affordable access to new and classical theater works, cultural heritage preservation, and public dialogue. These ongoing accomplishments have earned the Alliance membership numerous merit and media recognitions at the local, national, and international levels.
